about GGM
Gdańska Galeria Miejska/Gdańsk City Gallery opened in March 2009. It consists of three branches located in the heart of Gdańsk : Gdańska Galeria Miejska 1( ggm1)/ Gdańsk City Gallery 1 on Piwna Street, Gdańska Galeria Güntera Grassa (4g)/Günter Grass Gallery in Gdańsk ( opened in October 2009) on the corner of Szeroka and Grobla I Street and Gdańska Galeria Miejska 2 (ggm2)/ Gdańsk City Gallery 2 ( to be opened in Fall 2010) on Powroźnicza Street.
Our artistic programme contains various fine arts events, such as a series of exhibitions tilted “Dialogues” in which we put together works of the local artists with the works of foreign artists. This way international art streams are introduced in Poland and Polish artists become renowned outside Poland. Our other important event is the “Grass-mania” Festival celebrating Gunter Grass's work.
We want Gdańska Galeria Miejska/Gdańsk City Gallery to become a place of creativity, inspiration and good energy. Everyone who wants to take part in Gdańsk's cultural life is invited to join Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Gdańskiej Galerii Miejskiej/ The Society of Gdańsk City Gallery's Friends.
